I had a very interesting discussion about the ideas presented in this article. I’ve never really thought about it in these terms. I guess I’ve just accepted Calvin’s concept of total depravity. But it’s true that all people are created in His image, and yet most people deny their true identity, or maybe they’ve never been told about the One who created them. Makes me want to shout it from the mountaintops! Thanks for giving me something to chew on today. It’s helped me set my mind on the things which are above. 🙂
I agree that Calvin was very wrong about some things! Just like Luther and the Wesleys and all other theologians. As Paul admonished, Christians are of CHRIST, not Paul or Peter or Calvin….
I don’t believe any of us have a perfect theology this side of heaven, but I really don’t need my Christianity watered down with paganism. Many people will take Calvin, Augustine, Wesley, or any of a host of men over the Word of God. Paul wrote Scripture, Calvin wrote scrap

That’s fine, it’s not an issue of salvation. But Calvin was wrong because he built on Augustine’s faulty foundation
