Rise and Reflect
A Place Prepared for You
Rise and Reflect: A Place Prepared for You
(A Devotional on John 14:1-3)
Good morning, friend! Before the day’s hustle sweeps you away, let’s pause and anchor our hearts in a promise straight from Jesus’ lips: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:1-3, NKJV).
Isn’t that a comfort? Jesus spoke these words to His disciples in a moment of fear and uncertainty, just before the Cross. They were troubled, confused, and facing a future they couldn’t grasp. Sound familiar? Maybe today’s uncertainties—family struggles, world chaos, or personal doubts—are weighing you down. Jesus says, “Let not your heart be troubled.” Why? Because He’s preparing a place for you—a home in heaven, secure and eternal. Better yet, He’s coming back to take you there Himself!
This promise isn’t just about a future address; it’s about a present peace. Knowing Jesus is coming again (maybe today!) steadies us. It’s not pie-in-the-sky dreaming—it’s a real hope that shapes how we live now. So, if worry creeps in today, remind yourself: “My Savior’s got a place for me.” If you’re tempted to drift, pray: “Lord, keep my eyes on You.” And if someone in your life doesn’t know this hope, share it gently—tell them Jesus died for their sins, rose again, and invites them to trust Him (Rom. 10:9).
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for preparing a place for me and promising to return. Calm my heart today, guide my steps, and help me share Your love with others. Come soon, Lord! Amen.
Your Step Today: Write down John 14:3 on a note or set it as your phone’s lock screen: “I will come again and receive you to Myself.” Let it lift your gaze upward all day long.
