This part... "The Light That Finds You in the Dark — my faith is no longer in the man who betrayed me or the system that failed me. It is rooted in the person of Jesus Christ and the unwavering truth of Scripture. That lesson became my anchor. It allowed me to separate the evil actions of a man from the perfect love of God."

How furious it makes me to think about innocence being stripped away, even more so in that way. I'm endlessly thankful that the Lord's redemption reaches into every facet of our lives. Praise God that you know His love. His light truly shines in our darkness, and that darkness cannot overcome it. It's horrible to know that when atheists (or non-Jesus believers of any kind) go through the pains of life, they don't let themselves experience the anchoring and restorative love of Yahweh. I cannot imagine not having God meet us in our deepest pains. Thank you for writing this! How impactful it is to know that it's written by a strong man of God...so many young men (especially) need this kind of relatability and insight into how God is the only source of true healing and strength. He's our remedy.

Wow, this brought up a lot in my spirit like when I came home from a trip to Florida and told my father that someone in his family had taken me out on a boat where I couldn’t swim and abused me and he says we don’t talk about things like that in this family I thought he was gonna be my white knight on the shining horse and was gonna take care of this for me and he never did I think that was more painful than the abuse was. but God.🙏🙏🙏😢

In so many ways it is the aftermath that compounds the wound. I’m so sorry for your experience

My dear Robert, the Lord does heal the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Thank you for your vulnerability, strength, and honesty. I pray that our loving Father continues to use your testimony to bring light to this dark world. Your journey towards healing and truth will set countless lives free. God bless you!💕

Tears well up. I grieve for you Robert. But praise God that even such an evil thing such as you experienced was used by God to transform you into the faithful servant you now are. Bless you my brother in Christ!

I can only imagine the pain you felt, both bodily, and mentally, since I was also abused by my mother sexually, emotionally, physically which started as a toddler, then progressed into my childhood hears by friends of my parents, and then through my teenage years over 60 years ago.

Neither of my parents were believer's in any regards. Anyway I digress.

I need to state that you said, that your father was a devout Baptist, unfortunately, he was not, he married a woman who was Catholic, which goes up against the LORD'S teachings and His Apostles, that we are not to be joined or unequally yoked to an unbeliever. So how can your father have been a "devout" Baptist, when he went against the LORD'S warning and disobey our LORD'S commands?

The reality is since your father married an unbeliever, and had no authority over your mother, because he allowed her to make the decisions to send you into a Catholic School, governed by those who "drink from the cup of devils" he failed again to protect you, and since your father was not a Born-again believer, and married out from God's Will then you were not sanctified by your parents. Your father failed you greatly, and then your mother, an unbeliever decided to keep the abuse from your father, who is suppose to be the Godly Authority over the family.

I need to ask why do you not see this, and still grant your father an honorable mention, when he was not carrying out his duty to God, and then to you?

Unless you can face this and accept it, and acknowledge it, then you trying to help other's who have suffered this, will not be a blessing, for you are not seeing the whole truth as the LORD see's it.

Your formal Biola University education has not prepared you on how to see the Gospel as the LORD desires us to see it HIS WAY, you are intellectualizing your stance, by the letter, but not by the Spirit of the LORD.

Eph 5: 9 -11

9: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in ALL Goodness, Righteousness and Truth.)

10) PROVING what is ACCEPTABLE unto the LORD.

11) And NO fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

This instructs us why we are to PROVE what the LORD stands for and what ONLY HE finds acceptable. And when the HOLY SPIRIT has written the LORD'S will and ways upon our hearts, then we shall walk in that which is Acceptable only unto Him, and not what man "thinks" He represents.

May the LORD grant you Holy Spirit understanding, in what it means to be truly Born-again and to walk in HIS Ways.......

Lord bless you...
