The Gospel in Our Actions
The Gospel in Our Actions
Every action we take leaves a mark. Whether in small moments or big decisions, we are constantly influencing the people around us. Our lives, for better or worse, point others either toward God or away from Him. The Apostle Paul reminds us of this sobering reality:
“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”
—2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV)
An ambassador doesn’t speak for himself. He represents his king. In the same way, when we follow Jesus, we no longer live for ourselves—we live to reflect Him.
The Gospel People See
It has been said that we may be the only Gospel some people will ever read. For many, before they ever open a Bible, they’ll read our actions. They’ll notice how we respond when we’re wronged, how we speak when frustrated, and how we treat those who can give us nothing in return.
Jesus made this clear:
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
—Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)
The way we live can either open a door for the Gospel or slam it shut. That’s a humbling thought.
A Task Too Big for Us
If we stop there, the weight of responsibility feels overwhelming. Who could possibly live up to such a calling? The truth is—no one can, not in their own strength.
Jesus said plainly:
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
—John 15:5 (NKJV)
The call to represent Christ isn’t about us being perfect—it’s about us being surrendered. When we abide in Him, His life flows through us, and His Spirit equips us to do what we never could on our own.
The Treasure Worth Sharing
When we give our lives to Christ, we discover a treasure beyond compare. Paul describes it this way:
“We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.”
—2 Corinthians 4:7 (NKJV)
This treasure isn’t meant to be hidden. The joy of knowing Jesus grows as we share it. The kingdom of God is not diminished by giving—it multiplies. The more we pour out, the more He fills us.
Living the Message
So what does this look like in everyday life? It means showing kindness where there’s none. It means extending forgiveness when it isn’t deserved. It means choosing humility instead of pride, patience instead of anger, love instead of indifference.
None of these choices come naturally. But when Christ is living through us, they become possible—and powerful.
Surrender, Shine, Share
The call is simple, even if it isn’t easy:
Surrender to Christ—let Him lead.
Shine with His light—let your actions speak louder than words.
Share the treasure—freely give the grace you’ve received.
And as you do, trust that God is at work through you, planting seeds in hearts you may never see.
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for choosing us to be Your witnesses in this world. Help us to surrender daily, to shine with Your light, and to share the treasure of Your love. May our actions draw people to You, that they too may find life in Your name. Amen.

Amen to that. And I love your graphic with the man walking along the seashore and Jesus right there by his side, so beautiful
Love how you included the hope in this message. We simply cannot bear the weight of this on our own. This is what drives us to His feet for our daily breath. Great post!
