The Unbreakable Covenant: A Battle Cry for the Saints

Beloved in Christ,

I do not write as one who has mastered the valleys. I write as one who has walked through them—sometimes haltingly, sometimes in tears—and found that even there, the Shepherd never leaves His own. My life bears the marks of fire and flood, but they are not marks of defeat. They are the fingerprints of grace, proof of an unbreakable covenant written not with ink, but with the blood of the Lamb and sealed by the One who cannot lie.

A Foundation That Holds

I once thought my worth was something I could build—one achievement, one kind word, one nod of approval at a time. But intellect can falter in an hour. Health can evaporate with a single test result. Applause can die before your next breath.

When those things are stripped away, you discover where your roots really are.

For me, they have sunk deep into this truth:

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.”

This is not just a theological slogan. It is the bedrock of my identity. Every time despair tried to drown me, this truth pulled me back: I am not defined by my circumstances, but by the indwelling Christ.

Grace met me there—not the light, casual grace we sometimes toss around, but the kind that finds you when you have nothing left to offer. I once lived as if God’s favor could be earned. Then cancer came, and I knew that if healing came, it would not be payment for performance. It would be grace.

“By grace you have been saved through faith… not of works.”

—Ephesians 2:8–9, NKJV

Grace became the place where I collapsed—and the place where He lifted me again.

Hope held me—not the fragile kind that wishes, but the steady kind that knows He could return at any moment, fulfilling His distinct plans for His Church and for Israel (Titus 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Romans 11:25–26).

“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast.”

Our story is not finished yet.

The Storms I’ve Faced

The trials began before the cancer.

In 2019, a blocked artery slowed my steps and stripped away work, energy, and a sense of usefulness. Every day felt like an uphill battle, groping for purpose.

Then, in 2020, the pandemic’s shadow fell and the world paused in uncertainty. For a time, serving in a local church felt like solid ground—a place to pour out what strength I had left. But in 2022, that ministry door closed in a wave of painful words and misunderstanding. The loss cut deep. Yet even there, Christ whispered:

“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.”

—John 15:18, NKJV

In that moment, I learned in a deeper way: My worth depends on Him alone.

Then came the battle that stole my breath. Five tumors. The PET scan’s verdict felt like a death sentence. Fear knocked loudly, but my first prayer was simple:

“Glorify Yourself in this.”

I wanted my journey to reflect His glory, whatever the outcome. And then, the impossible: the tumors shrank before surgery. When the surgeon went in, nothing remained.

“Is anything too hard for the LORD?”

Yet even after that miracle, the mind battles raged—words scattering, thoughts slipping like sand through my fingers. But Scripture stayed. Verses I had stored for years rose unbidden to the surface. The Word hummed in my soul when memory failed.

“For the word of God is living and powerful…”

—Hebrews 4:12, NKJV

His voice steadied me, a hand gripping mine in the dark.

The Miracles That Sustain

Miracles aren’t only in vanishing tumors. Sometimes the miracle is simply still standing when every natural reason says you shouldn’t.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

—2 Corinthians 12:9, NKJV

In brokenness, I found His sufficiency. Each breath is a testimony: He sustains.

Tears fell often, but they weren’t wasted. They watered seeds of faith.

“Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.”

—Psalm 126:5, NKJV

Each tear became a quiet “I trust You,” even when I didn’t understand. Even now, though battles linger, I’ve learned: God needs no permission from our circumstances to turn ashes into beauty.

A Call to Stand Firm

If you’re suffering, your pain is not wasted—it is being woven into a story for His glory.

If you’re doubting, your questions don’t disqualify you—bring them to Him and let them drive you deeper into His embrace (James 1:2–4).

If you do not yet know Christ, hear this: the God who erased my tumors offers you His grace today. Trust in Jesus, who died for your sins and rose again (John 3:16; Romans 10:9). His arms are open. He does not negotiate your worth; He declares it at the cross.

To the Church: Stop chasing the world’s applause. Our strength is not in our platforms, strategies, or branding. Our strength is in Christ crucified and risen (1 Corinthians 2:2). Stand firm. Be faithful. Our mission is timeless.

My Covenant of Faith

In the midst of these trials, I have made a quiet covenant in my heart:

• I will not trade truth for comfort.

• I will not fear man more than God.

• I will not doubt in the dark what He has proved in the light.

“For I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.”

—2 Timothy 1:12, NKJV

This is my battle cry. I invite you to make it yours.

If my story ended here, it would be enough. But if He gives me tomorrow, I will proclaim His glory again.

“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

—Philippians 1:21, NKJV

Scars as Battle Cries

As we journey together, let our scars become battle cries, not shame marks. Let them echo through the ages as testimonies to a God who never leaves us, who turns our darkest nights into canvases for His glory.

Will you trust Him in your valley today?

Will you believe that the same God who keeps Israel in His covenant will keep you in His hands?

Soli Deo Gloria.
