Wow. Thank you for being real. That was fully human in the good sense. And honoring to our King.

The point is the Pastor that fails has consequences. Our job is to follow the leader- Jesus Christ and God. https://open.substack.com/pub/rogergroves/p/when-earthly-preachers-fail?r=5o921z&utm_medium=ios

Amen! The weeds and the wheat will be, but what happened with my brother was pretty extreme. It was sin hiding behind the Sacred. They never cared at all. It was a culture of global abuse.

Btw loved and reposted your article

That last part, "And I want him to know there’s still faith to be found in Christ. He left a broken institution. I found a living Savior. And that’s the difference."

That's precisely how I feel about a family member of mine who used to be a Seventh-Day Adventist but left and now doubts the Bible entirely. Thank goodness they left the false doctrine of SDA, but it hurts to know that a false picture of true faith tainted her entire confidence in Christ Himself. Praying for both her and your brother! Praying that they also come to know how matchless and true our Living Savior is.

Amen Sister! They will have much to answer for when they stand before our Lord.

I went to Bible College for a couple of semesters. But even I could tell that I was more indoctrinated than educated. So imagine my surprise when I went into the Service to work for Chaplains. There were so many different versions of Christianity, each Chaplain according to his denomination.

The Roman Catholic Jesus is not the Jesus of the Bible—it is a false Jesus who is subordinated to Mary, whose work on the cross is undermined, turned on end, and completely dismissed by the very thing that pretends to magnify it—the Eucharistic mass. Another false characteristic of the Roman Catholic “Jesus” includes an image of a bloody, beaten long-haired, Roman looking guy who instills or imbibes through this gory scene a desire for revenge on the Jewish People. That is antisemitism and it is not the true Jesus of the Bible.

Thankyou for posting this, now I finally understand why my dear friend walked away from knowing God... her brief story of an uncle having realised darkness underlying religion (through similar means) resulted in his walking away from God, taking my friend (his niece) with him.

Your post may well help her understand the difference.

God bless you.

So true. I have friends who also reject church altogether for that reason. As you eloquently said: “he mistook the failure of men for the failure of God.

He saw hypocrisy and thought it meant the absence of truth.

He saw corruption and thought it meant Christ had left the building.

But Christ was never the one behind the masks.

He was the one they locked outside.” I have a similar post: “When the Pastor Fails…”

This is a powerful reminder that human failure can never cancel out the faithfulness of Christ, whose light still shines even in the darkest places.

There's still time while he yet lives. 🙏🏼♥️
